The Board
Looking ahead

Following the rapid uptake of shares in the project, the Board declared financial closure on 21 December 2011 and issued its first shares on 23 January 2012. Civil works were completed in October 2012, and the turbines began generating on 20 February 2013.

The official opening on March 17 2013 was attended by more than 150 locals, visitors and invited guests - ten years almost to the day since the project began.

In dollar terms the windfarm is the biggest single community project in the town's history. In its first 12 months of commercial production the turbines generated 5.4GWh of electricity, equal to about 55% of average annual domestic consumption.

In October 2014, less than two years after commissioning, the company had retired more than $600k in debt and paid its first dividend to shareholders.
